During the first week of the Easter holidays, thirty-one pupils and three staff headed off on a pre-season tennis tour to Portugal’s Algarve. The sun shone all week and with some fantastic coaching from the Monte Gordo tennis coaches, the pupils worked on developing and honing their skills. The week ended with competitive matches against some of the best local tennis players in the area. The group even met a local whose father was an Old Bromsgrovian who had been evacuated with the School to Llanwrtyd Wells during WW2.
Aside from tennis, the pupils enjoyed free time on the beautiful sandy beaches, swam in the hotel pool, played some padel tennis and took in the sights of Seville on a day trip across the border into Spain.
The behaviour of each and every pupil on the trip was exemplary and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour as they embark on this term’s matches.
